In Jan. 1963 the Professional Group on Human Factors in Electronics of the Institute of Radio Engineers became the Professional Technical Group on Human Factors in Electronics of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. The name of the group was changed in 1964 to Human Factors in Electronics Group, and in Nov. 1967 to Man-Machine Systems Group. In 1971 the Man-Machine Systems Group was merged with the Systems Science and Cybernetics Group to form the Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Group. In 1972 the latter became the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society. Works by the IEEE Professional Technical Group on Human Factors in Electronics and the IEEE Human Factors in Electronics Group are found under Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
